Brit Blogger Game Tonight

I think I need to work out how to place the Brit Blogger banner down the side of my blog to avoid me having to post on a Sunday to pimp it.

I'm in a decent Easter mood today after watching Rangers close the gap at the top of the league to just one point after we beat Motherwell and the mutants could only draw away to Hearts.Sadly the young lad in his 20's next to me informed me the usual seat holder, his Great Uncle, had passed away last week.As a season ticket holder for over a decade ( since I stopped working weekends)it's the same bunch of lads around me for every game and I wouldn't want to sit anywhere else in the ground.I don't believe in the afterlife or any of that stuff ( now seems as good a day as any to mention that!), but I'd still like to think auld Jimmy was looking down as the Gers goals hit the net yesterday.

I picked up Nacho after the game and took him for a long walk round the pitches before arriving home and enjoying a fine late night PS3 session with the s-man.The Party tables were quiet when he left at 2am-ish so I decided to hit up Full Tilt for a change, firing up a $33 to start with.I bubbled when I reraised a button raiser with AQ and Mr A8 sooted called and flopped a flush. As I was only playing one table I stepped up and finished the night with a $55+$5 turbo.I shoved over a button steal with 99 only find the button wasn't stealing and had QQ.There must have been a blue moon as a beautiful 9 came on the flop and despite my certainty that a Queen would follow,it never did and I had a healthy stack.Someone even said they folded J9 and I'd hit the case 9.I felt like typing "Lucky? Did you see my last bubble exit?!".I ended up coming 3rd ( for $99) when I shoved 73h from the button and ran into A9.

Playing 3-4 tables of $22's using pretty much the same technique every time does get a little repetitive after a while and it was nice to just focus on one table and actually feel like I was playing poker rather than just bashing moles.

The $55 table only had a few winners too according to Sharky and the way the first few hands went it was hard to believe it wasn't a play money game.I actually suspected chip dumping until I realised Mr 910 and Mr A4 had gotten it all in preflop ( first hand).

Back to munching Easter Eggs....

Big Issue

I've had better weekends.Ex Mrs A said on Sat night that due to third party reasons involving her falling out with neighbours, she wants me to move out this week. When I pointed out that my tennant doesn't move out until Sept 13th and that she was well aware of this, she threatened to dump my stuff on the street.

She'd calmed down later and I agreed to speak to the neighbour ( who I've always got on with) and explain I'm leaving in a few weeks and don't want any hassle.I'll also call my letting agency and see if I can get my flat back earlier.

My parents, sister and a couple of friends have offered to put me up ( or put up with me) but I really wanted to avoid making two moves and unsettling myself any further.Looks like I may not have much choice..

My parents are also selling a flat they used to rent out which is nearer Glasgow city centre and within my price range. My own place would need some decorating done before being sold if I decided to buy the new flat so it's all a bit messy.I'm just not sure how I'm going to feel moving back to my original flat. Will I feel I'm back home or will I just want out for a fresh start?

I could move back ,do it up and then sell up and move within the same area I'm in which would make it easier to see Step A and Nacho.

I have at least compiled a list of action points I need to make a start on, and although my life is in turmoil, and I'm going to miss Step A and Nacho like mad,I'm trying to keep a sense of perspective.

I didn't play much poker after that on Sat night and only played in the Britbloggerment game last night on 'Stars.Congrats to Welshyk for winning it and well done to BM for earning himself the bridesmaid dress this week.I managed 4th with the highlights being 88,AK and QQ holding up in races, the hammer costing me half my chips and finally losing when my AK didn't improve against JJ.

Looking forward to heading over to my parents with Step A for birthday dinner tonight.( ex is working)

We've still not told Step A and will have to do so shortly, though I'm sure she must sense something is wrong.Nacho knows I think as he comes and sits on my feet everytime ex Mrs A leaves the room!

Before I go thanks to Rosie and Juice for sending me the Cincinnati Kid on dvd for my birthday.Brought a smile to my face!I love the tag line "He'd take on anyone,at anything, anytime".

Ok,back later in the week...

Made the final 18....

I had a mixed night at the poker last night. It was a good night for my roll, but could have been better after I was $120 up within about 10 minutes at my $100nl Laddies cash table, before losing a big hand with trips to a full house, and leaving $40 up a while later.

I also made a quick $25 at 'Stars just before bed and managed 22nd place in an Interpoker Headhunter tourney for a whopping $1 profit.Only I could come 22/369 in a head hunter bounty tourney and not manage to collect one single bounty!

In any other tourney getting that far without having to commit my stack very often would be good...!

The cash tables at Inter weren't as kind and after losing a big hand to a suckout I then tilted off a further $40 through a combination of tiredness, frustration and lack of focus.I still have over double my buy-in at Inter so all is not lost.

I also played a sat mtt to try and qualify for the Scottish world cup team at Stars yesterday and suffered a pretty awful beat ( look away now) when I got it all in with AdKd v AsJh on an Ace high flop with two diamonds ,only to see a Jc fall on the river.Nice one outer!

I was determined to try again today and sat down with two rolls n square sausage to play at 2pm along with 95 others.

I chipped up quite well, although it was squeaky bum time near the bubble as I was 10th from 13 left with the top 9 qualifying.

The significant hand was when it was folded to me with AQ on the button. The bb was very shortstacked and was sitting out.I made a decent sized raise, however the big stack in the sb must have thought I was after the dead bb's money and he reraised.I made the call, as I had to take a chance to move up the rankings, and he could have been making that move with a less than premium hand because he thought I was stealing. He showed AJ and my AQ actually held up.From then on I folded into the next round....

I should also mention Hammerheid ( bloggerment player) was at my table and played well.He was very unlucky to take a big hit when his KK fell to QQ and unfortuntely he never recovered.

The final is tomorrow at 2pm and 2/18 will qualify for the Scottish team. The countries then play off online and the top 8 go to sunny Barcelona to play live for some decent cash.( and the glory!)

I also watched Rangers beat Chelsea 2-0 in the friendly game at Ibrox this afternoon with the Nacho man opening the scoring and Sebo bagging the other.

Don't forget to register for Bloggerment 19 and if you see two in the lobby please pick the No-Limit one! As Joint Supreme Overlord of the Bloggerment along with Burnley Mik, I am happy under the collective responsibility ethos,to accept the blame....on BM's behalf if he's not around and then place it firmly on his shoulders :-)

Looks like the Wolverine fan is trying to round up some US dead money for the game on Sunday and let me just say again that the Bloggerment is open to anyone, anywhere and we're a pretty welcoming bunch.( We smile as we take your chips!)

Come on people,Do you wanna play a game?!

Al Eleven/Miami Trout Does it again!

Congrats to my mate Al Eleven ( Miami Mark) ,the Miami Trout, for taking down his 2nd Britbloggerment title with a fine display of skill, aggression and incredible luckboxery. Here's some live footage from the game itself of the actual moment The Trout hit his flush on the river v my 88 and took me out ( where's the tiny font button?) in 13th.( nice to have made the top 15 though!)

I did place a bounty on his head but I'm such a tight git I had calmed down by the time Mark won and was actually happy to keep my $5!

Despite his troutery a fine time was had by all and a big thanks to all who made it to the game, especially as it was Easter Sunday.Next weeks game is at 9pm BST,Password is donkament and hopefully some of the usual suspects ( dD,The Rottie and co ) will return!

As usual head over to Burnley Milk and The Cloud to read a couple of the best write ups, although I do wish Mr Cloud had been a lot less gracious in his.QQ v j3!! Tear him a new one ;-)

I played five 18 player $6 turbo's afterwards with the s-man ( sookraboaby),Miami Trout and the Milkman and managed a 4th,3rd and one win ,before crashing out of two $15 games, saying cheerio to the lads, and hitting the cash tables.

Thankfully the fish slapping was over and I managed to get hands to hold up and left with a tidy profit.I began at a $100 nl 6 max table with this hand against the loose aggressive ( not quite a full blown maniac but not far off)player.I think actively seeking out loose tables with large pots over the last couple of years has led me to overplay top pair/top kicker on occasion but I only really feared the villain was holding a 6 and after the third six fell on the turn I reckoned I was home and dry.

With my confidence up and with a good idea of his game plan here was my next wee battle with him.I had expected him to lead on the flop which is why I checked on the flop.

After a few more hands like that the table broke and I searched my poker sites for a juicy table.I may not chase bonuses and I probably have lost out on a fortune by being lazy that way but it does mean at 4.30am at the weekend I can pick the juicy table to play at and not bother which site it's at.

A Party $50nl table took my fancy and I was fortunate enough to run into another big fishy there ( deseptor was the name I think).Just as I arrived the fish had won a pot and had typed "you don't hate me do you?" to the loser in the hand who left the table.I think those were my parting words in the chatbox after I nearly doubled my buy-in with 99 after being all in preflop.( that's how fishy he was!)Edit:I forgot I asked Party to email me the hand. The villain had kh10h.

No,on reflection,my last words were a request that he add me to his buddy list....

Ok,that's all for now.Rangers won with a Nacho Novo goal,I had a nice run at the cash tables ,I survived another driving lesson with Mrs A and we're about to go get our sausage supper. All that and with my terrible short term memory I've even managed to forget how that wee blogger game finished last night.....
