Bring on the 4 Card Bingo...

VeryJosie asked about "The Rangers" in a comment on my last post and I thought it would be easier to provide a wiki link to info on the club and repost a youtube clip from January's Old Firm game to show just how noisy and passionate our fans are.Quite scary to think it's over 30 years since I attended my first game and I've had my season ticket for about 15 years.( ever since I stopped working Saturdays)

International jet setting blogger Yorkie Pud asked if there was any particular reason I've logged very little poker volume this year and I reckon that being hooked on the Call of Duty ( Modern Warfare 2) game has been the main reason! Being off work for so long and generally having no life has meant I've now logged over 36 days worth of online playing time since it was released last Dec.On Sunday I even looked up Stars MTT schedule and planned on registering in 5-6 games from 7pm.I ended up teaming up with the s-man and playing MW2 instead.( KD now 1.34!)

I've always been a bit that way I suppose. With music I find myself getting into a singer/band and listening to their stuff non-stop for a few months, reading up on them etc and then the obsession fades and I move on to something else.It does take a lot for me to change though as I'm a definite creature of routine and habit and trying new stuff doesn't come easily.I thought The Inbetweeners was probably a crap sketch show until I watched the first two series a couple of weeks back and now I wouldn't miss it.Being a huge South Park fan meant I've never watched a whole episode of The Simpsons and it was only the s-man that got me into the excellent Family Guy after much persuasion.( not that there's any rule that says you can only like one cartoon!)

I've played thousands of sng's over the last few years ( aprox 300-400 per month until this year)and used to shake my head when reading other blog posts about folks bad beats over 4-5 games.Playing 25-50 games per night helps even out the extreme variance in poker, but these days I find if I crash out of four games in a row to lost flips and suckouts then I just can't be bothered with that shitty feeling and I'd rather go and do something else.As I mentioned before I also find the first 4 levels of sit and go games to be boring fold fests and at the moment I'm fortunate enough to not need the money enough to just grit my teeth and play if I'm not enjoying it or making much money.

I have been playing some PLO cash games on Stars although only at 10c-25c blinds.I actually like the fact that I've not read much strategy and don't know the bones of the game as I have to really think hard to estimate ranges and to have some sort of idea of where I am in a hand.Being up a few buy-ins helps and my roll now stands at $865 on Stars and a measly $134 on Party.

Life isn't too bad at the moment.I had a great time taking my wee nephew out for a walk in his pram ( instant clunge magnet obv!) last Thursday,I'm off to the Scotland v Spain game tonight with The Big Chap and I finally caught up with Step A again and we're going for a Mcd's tomorrow night.I'm also still on alternate full days and have 35 days of annual leave to take before the end of March.

I haven't met the girl I was texting yet for our cinema date.In truth ( yeah call me superficial if you like) she sent a photo through and between that and the tone of a few of her texts I didn't make texting her back a priority! Once I'm back working fulltime I'll try and get my arse in gear and do some more dating.

Ok,thanks for reading.Back soon...

Friday Update

I had been feeling a little better yesterday so I took Nacho out for a decent walk and then went to see a man about a dog last night.Arriving back I felt a bit dizzy and realised I'm still not 100% over the swine/man flu virus.I did sleep for over 10 hours last night though and reckon I'll be fighting fit for dinner at Mum and Dads later, followed by an evening over at the s-mans.I was in two minds about postponing tomorrow nights re-arranged date, but the lady in question has sent me a few hot pics by text and I'm not waiting another week!

On the poker front I'll post my annual stats tomorrow sometime.I did some 6 tabling of the $22's yesterday and dropped about 10 buy-ins through a combination of bad beats and rushed decision making to leave me 5 buy-ins down overall at Party for October.I am up a wee bit on Stars and after my PLO sng win the other night I played my first hands of PLO cash at the baller $10 by-in level.I lost nearly $8 when my A5 flopped a full house and lost to a bigger rivered boat but came back to make....$3 profit overall.I'm still pretty clueless as to what is and what isn't a good PLO hand but for $10 stakes I'm happy to just muddle along.

I was watching the news last night and they covered the touching story of a wee girl called Sophie Atay.I copied the info below from her justgiving website.Feel free to click on the link, make a donation and help sent Sophie to the States for treatment.

"Sophie Atay was born fit and healthy on 15 November 2007 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear. One day whilst drying Sophie after her usual bath her mother felt a lump on the left side of her tummy. After numerous and frustrating hospital visits over a 10 day period Sophie was diagnosed with neuroblastoma stage 4 (high risk) on Monday 16 February 2009. Sophie's family are now looking to raise funds to take her to the Memorial Slone Kettering Hospital in New York for treatment."

Ok,thanks for reading.Back soon..

PLO + JaffacakesJane

I began my weekend at the felt by cashing in a $1 Double or Nothing PLO game and winning a $5 PLO turbo sng on Stars.I should have taken that tiny profit and run as I broke even over the ton of $16's/$27's I played until I hit the sack at 3am.

On Saturday afternoon I was in my seat early ( I usually turn up 2 mins before kick-off) to see the League Flag unfurled and to watch us begin our title defence with a comfortable 4-1 win over Falkirk.I also enjoyed watching Arsenal destroy Everton 6-1 on Sunday and can only hope they carry that form into tonights game and rip celtc apart.( preferably 3-0,3-1,4-0,4-1,5-0 or 5-1 as I've a few £ riding on it now)

Back to the poker and I'm still having a decent run at the Party $22's.I have over 4000 hands on some players at that limit and I suppose that despite my low volume I'm probably considered one of the regulars.

Away from the felt I've been persuaded to give the online dating scene a try.Hmmm!

I can assure anyone thinking of trying it that contrary to popular belief there are some honest profiles out there. For example, one glance at "Jaffacakes Jane" profile photo really does reflect the fact that the girl loves her biscuits...

I did screw up on my own profile by stating that I looked after my dog full-time ( made sense to me as I had him part-time previously) which probably gave the impression I sat at home all day with the dog on my lap watching Loose Women and Bargain Hunt.Since I changed that small detail I've had quite a few "winks" + emails and have replied to a few.

I'm probably too honest for my own good though as it only seemed honourable to be in contact with one lady at a time and I've now worked out that everyone else seems to have a few prospects on the go.Perhaps I got lucky previously, meeting someone I only knew online ( not dating site related) and finding enough sparks to start a fire in a foam factory, but I'll give this a go and see where it takes me.

Ok,thanks for reading.Back soon...

Live Game and PLO Donkery

22 players started the £22 ( 15 min blinds,10k starting stack) live turbo game at the Alea casino in Glasgow yesterday including my Mum and me.After folding a few hands I called a small raise with 88 from the small blind and was delighted to see a ragged Q 8 4 flop.It was checked to me and I checked too hoping to let the initial raiser catch something.

The turn card was a 9 and my wish was granted...The villain had 99 and only his stupidity prevented me from crashing out.I led out on the turn and after making what I thought was a value bet on the river he asked me if I had a 9 for a full house. The board wasn't even paired and he had 99 so who knows what he was thinking as he only called my bet with no raise. That left me with about 5k and thankfully I managed to double with AK v JJ a short time later to keep me in the running.

As we approached the final table bubble I had less than 10 big blinds and began shoving quite frequently at my 5 handed table to stay afloat and not lose my fold equity. After chipping up to 19k I took it easy for a few hands before looking down to AQ.The blinds were 1k/2k and as I'd shoved a few hands already I opted to shove again, hoping to look weak and get called by a worse Ace/KQ type hand.Of course the lady on my left woke up with AK,I didn't improve and bubbled the final table.

I hung around for a bit as Mother Acorn made the FT with a small stack and after an early double up she hit the rail when she ran her soooted A3 into JJ.

Back to the internet pokers and here's my sharky graph for my first 1k games at Party.Considering I was new to single table sng's and the stakes are a small step up from the $16's I suppose I should be reasonably happy.I also have the tourney numbers of 5 wins and 1 no cash which Sharky missed.I've just remembered too that Sharky only started covering Party sng's from last November so the stats are only from then and are more of a guide than a precise record.

Just over 1k games may seem a lot but in reality at least 2k would probably be a better sample size to draw conclusions from.

Stars stats...

I had a late dinner last night and only just remembered in time to register for Dr Pauly's PLO game.I've only ever played 10 PLO sngs ( Dec '08 was my last one) and a few of Dr Pauly's ( I even lucksacked my way to a win onetime) tourneys before and I really am a clueless fish when it comes to Pot Limit Omaha.I was nearly calling Dudley to ask if being double soooted is better than 2 pair preflop ( I assume it is) or if I should be playing hands like 910JQ hard as they must hit a lot of boards.Somehow I managed to make the final table and luckboxed my way to 6th from 48 starters.I really enjoyed the game but wish I knew the hand rankings as I hated feeling like an even bigger donkey than usual due to my lack of knowledge.Good times though!

I played some $22's and a $33 later and even managed to catch up with the Connecticut Cod ( aka Al Eleven,Miami Trout,San Jose Salmon) in the wee small hours.

Tonight I'm taking Step A home, picking up Nacho and will be playing the Stars Turbo Takedown and the RTR league game. The s-man is coming over too for a sesh.I seem to have a repuation as a nit/rock in the league games. ( doesn't stop 'em calling my raises with a4 and flopping straights!)

Here's one of my less nitty hands from a $22 bubble last night. The villains stats over 35 hands were 35% vpip /15% preflop raise and I suppose it was just one of those acting on instinct hands where I could easily have been looked up and made to look silly.( not that I'm bothered by that!)

The background was that we were the two shortish stacks on the bubble and her initial raise just felt like a cheap steal attempt. Her range certainly included weak Aces and her flop bet could have been a trap but it just felt weak and my plan was to bet the turn if she slowed down and checked to me.After she called my turn bet I put her on a pair ( 22-1010)and when she checked to me on the river I shoved all in hoping the added power of it being the bubble would get her to fold even a weak Ace if she had it.I was representing the Ace or even a 6 from the blinds and was happy to see her hand hit the muck.Nitty? Not always!

Just about done for today but had to post this clip from a pokernews interview with Italian pokerstar Dario Minieri .I know it did the rounds a while back ( there's still a thread on Pocket Fives somewhere) however it never fails to make me smile.

Back soon...

Fitba',Poker,Bloggy Win

Rangers won 7-1 and celtc lost at the weekend so all is right with the world again. There were a few funny comments from the bloke behind me at the game. Our captain,Barry Ferguson,is struggling a bit after coming back from injury and has been getting a bit stick from some of the fans. Some have never forgiven him for leaving us to try his luck in England before he returned and was appointed Captain again.Anyway, this bloke tells us all he was " Late home last night, about 4am".The Missus says "What the hell's going on,coming in at this time?"."Fuckin Ferguson" our boy replied...Maybe you had to be there!

I didn't actually play much poker on Saturday night after bubbling Dr Paulys PLO game.I did watch Rosie cash in yet another Mtt and for the millionth time promised myself I'd play more of them...

I passed a Bot test on Stars at the weekend.I thought the aliens had landed when I noticed my 'Stars chatbox prompting me to type the word "Recoils" within the next 100seconds.At least it proves they have a sense of humour as it feels like all I've done on Stars recently is recoil from one beat after another!

I had a wee brainwave on Saturday night.Sit and go games are all about volume. If I'm making nearly $3 per game then it's no good feeling up or down over daily swings.I've not worked it out yet but I'm going to set myself a volume target,go for that and focus less on the short-term.I've now played 3.5k sngs on Stars and have got to have enough confidence in my game to know that regardless of swings, I'm still making $2-$3 per game.

To the Bloggy and thanks to all who showed up to play this week.Although the field may have been small, the assembled players were of the highest calibre and only a true poker warrior was going to triumph.( any guesses yet who that may be?!!) Yes,I luckboxed my way to victory after winning a few flips, and finally taking out "Betfare" heads up when my AK beat his 88.

It was great to see my old mate,Al Eleven, back at the felt and in the chat too.The S-man was round for an evening of COD 5 and after catching up with Al,we blasted the Japs until just after midnight.

After the s-man left I played an $11 sng with Juice ( didn't cash) and took down a $22 before hitting the sack.

Ok,that's me just about done.Btw ( By the way) if anyone is ever unsure of any acronyms or poker phrases used on the blog feel free to drop me line or leave a comment.Don't be left in the dark! Google is also your friend too in these situations. It's certainly helped me wise up!

Back soon.

Sat Update

I was probably too tired to play decent poker over the last couple of nights.I did some boring stuff around my flat, watched another training vid and hit the tables about 10pm for a few games on Thursday evening. For a change I played two $16 single table turbs on Stars and was lucky to come second in one after playing quite poorly.I took my $9 overall profit and fired up a couple of $22's on Party.I may try starting most nights by playing a couple of $6 games to warm up from now on as I always seem to feel a bit out of sorts when I first sit down.

Anyway I ran into a bigger hand in the first $22 and took 3rd in the other when a numpty villain called my 1010 shove with 108sooted and hit runner runner spades. It was Iron Maiden time ( Two Minutes till Midnight) and for once I decided to be sensible and go to bed instead of rolling another and playing more poker.

Not Iron Maiden....

Last night I could barely keep my eyes open and didn't start playing until late on.( apart from donking out a wee $6.50 PLO turb).I was feeling tired, bored and restless and should probably have stayed away from the tables.Inspired by Amatays post,I fired up a couple of slow speed $26 ,45 player games on Full Tilt and played like an idiot in the them.I'd actually crashed out the first one before I realised it wasn't a turbo...

In my third attempt I came 11th and if I could actually win a coin flip,I'm sure I'd have cashed. The games are certainly lived up to their fishy billing and after getting 10 hours sleep last night, I'm looking forward to playing them tonight when I get back from the football.

I did hear from Dudley ( Resdent Evil) last week and he let me know he's ok.( no recent blog updates!) He said he has been inspired by the X Factor and is now dedicated to following his musical dream.Look out for him pop pickers!

I mentioned feeliing bored and restless.Part of me is enjoying being 36 with no major commitments. My mortgage is relatively small and financially ( (partly thanks to poker) I'm far better off than I expected to be when I moved back to my flat last year.Playing poker, staying up late, long lies, pub dinners, smoking a ton of herb and total freedom to come and go as I please are all great I suppose. It's just not where I expected to be at this stage of my life.I see the ex leaving her heating off to save money and can't help feeling ( despite the fact that she dumped me!) that I somehow let them down.Perhaps after living on my own for so long I was too set in my ways ( selfish in other words) to adapt properly.

I did meet someone else ( almost exactly a year ago) and for obvious reasons I don't feel I can write much about that here.Distance, state of mind, other issues and the fact it's not worked out a few times now (and each time we've not spoken for at least a month), mean I genuinley don't know if either of us feel it's worth pursuing again.

Ok,enough of that! Here's an interesting wee hand from the bubble of the $22 I played in the other night.( the one I cashed in and ran 1010 into 108)It's not a move I make very often. It was based on my read that the villain was a good, solid player who knew he should be raising wide to steal because of the shorty. He also knew he couldn't call my shove without a top 5 hand as this would cripple him.I expected him to think that I would know that I couldn't raise without a monster myself thanks to the shorty and that he'd be more likely to respect my bet for that reason.Perhaps I didn't need to take a chance here and it was a donk move.It felt right at the time though and sure enough the villain folded. No fear!

Ok,don't forget tonight is Dr Paulys PLO donkfest and Sunday is Brit Blogger day.( 4pm est/9pm gmt)

Good luck at the tables...

Twisting my melon

Start time for Brit Blogger is 4pm est/9pm gmt...All welcome!

The patient is doing well and I'm sure he'll be back chasing his football in no time!I've hidden in it the cupboard so he doesn't need to walk past it every time he goes in and out my flat.I do wish he'd stop trying to chew his bandage off though. My carpet isn't doing so well unfortunately and I may need to get someone in to give it a proper clean.

The poker continues to twist my melon.

I only played a couple of games on Thursday evening late on and my heart and head weren't really in it.Last night I 4 tabled the $16's on Stars and continued to run like crap. It's the same boring old story of sick beats and lost races.I did manage a win and second place from the last of my 16 games to leave me $50 up for the night, but it's getting quite sickening on Stars just now.

Thankfully ( although this month has been quite static)Party and other sites have been a little kinder.I just hope my Stars curse lifts shortly and I can put together a decent run there. On the upside I'm not bleeding money running this badly and if I can hit a wall like this and still almost break even I suppose I shouldn't complain too much.

Plan for tonight is to remember to play Dr Paulys PLO game and to enjoy Jacks company! There's a possibility of some white widow coming my way next week.Wipeout!

Righty, thanks for reading.Back tomorrow with my rubbish stats for the month...

Hoovering....

After watching Rangers beat St Mirren 2-1, I grabbed a quick sausage supper, took Nacho for a game of football and logged onto Stars in time for Dr Paulys Saturday PLO game.I'm still pretty clueless when it comes to PLO starting hands and I probably folded a few monsters and played a few fishy hands.I'm not sure if it's possible to get the hammer at PLO,but I did enjoy raising with 772K and showing the table! I took 5th again ( 5th last time I played)and more importantly, I really enjoyed the game.I'm still drooling at the thought of Kats cookies!

After that shennanigans,I decided to calm things down a little and only play 2-3 tables of $16.I didn't want to be chasing Friday nights losses and pushing too hard.It seemed to work as I only played 10 games and won $218.

Although I did write recently that I'm trying to stop focusing so much on short-term results,I can't deny I did feel quite relieved to get back to winning ways.( for now at least!)

I finished at Stars around 3am and decided on a couple of $22's on Party before bed.In truth, short-term thinking was at work again, because I was about $45 up for the month at Party, and knew even losing a couple of $22's would leave me about even.

The traffic was quiet on Party at that time, and I ended up playing just one $22.If every $22 went as well as this one did, I'd give up my day job tomorrow and play fulltime.Seventeen minutes and thirty three hands after the first card was dealt, I'd taken first and went to bed a happy Acorn.

A few premium hands holding,a bit of luck ( yes it's true!),a complete donk villain and playing with my confidence full restored certainly helped.Carlsberg don't do sngs but if they did.....

( Carlsberg ad below)

Ok,off to drop Nacho off soon.I've also seen a man about a partiularly potent smelling dog this afternoon and I'm looking forward to sampling that fine herbage a bit later too!

Don't forget to register for tonights Turbo Brit Blogger game on Full Tilt, starting at 4pm est/9pm UK time.Find it under the Private tab or do a player search for "Acornman".I'll be playing in it and also the RebelsofPoker league game on Stars at the same time if I remember!

Best of luck to Matty ( won his ticket via the Brit Blogger game a couple of weeks ago) and to Mr Cloud in the FTOPS Event 24.I was tempted to buy-in too, but I got fresh herb and two games to play already tonight and I like to keep my Sundays more for some chilled out social poker.

Thanks for reading.Back soon...

Shaken all night long

Actually 4pm/9pm starting time for Brit Blogger..

Blogging almost seems to get tougher as I play more and more sngs.I lost $195 over 24 $16's last night and in the past I may have been tempted to rant about how badly I ran and how variance can be so unfair. It probably doesn't make for great reading but I didn't go to bed with a bloodied fist and feeling like crap.( mind you I was pretty wasted by 4.30am!) Having played over 3000 sngs on Stars I can just accept that last night was just one of those nights where nothing goes right. At one point I did actually win a game and was hoping to bounce back, but it wasn't to be.Even at $195 down it only takes a couple of wins/decent cashes to wipe that out and I'm actually quite pleased at how calm I feel about a standard night of the turbo long knives!

Of course maybe they flicked my doomswitch after I clicked Tools,Internet options,Programs,Manage add ons and then disabled the Pokerstars option.Apparently this stops them snooping about on your pc/laptop.( not that I'd be using Sharkscope when on Stars as they have rules about that!).I've no idea about how computers work.Does anyone have any idea if the above info is correct? ( not the doomswitch bit obviously!)

Back in June,July and August every night felt like last night and I suppose that experience has also helped toughen me up a bit.Hitting the one year mark and showing a decent overall profit has also boosted my confidence and makes it easier to keep a sensible perspective about a bad night.I'm also aware that top pro grinders wouldn't blink at a 500 game downswing let alone a bad run of 24 games! That's the kind of mindset required for turbos as they will suck your soul out if you let them.

I've always felt that even if I can't be as skilled as the best players,if I can bounce back from bad runs better than the average player then that would give me an edge.Four years into my real money online poker adventure and I now feel that I am a match for most players skillwise at my level and if I can keep my head in the right place too, there's no reason why I can't keep making some decent hobby wonga!

Ok,enough of that bollocks! I missed Dr Paulys PLO game last week due to the clocks going back ( doh!) but intend playing tonight. The Brit Blogger game is also on Full Tilt this Sunday at 9pm UK time.( 4pm est under Private tab). All are welcome to play in our Sunday turbo donkfest!

Here's are a couple of classic Chic Murray lines which made me smile...

There was a man standing stationary at a funeral, some 60 yards from the graveside.

"Who's that?"

"I'm not sure. I think he's a distant relative."

This man came home to find his wife in bed with three men. Hello! Hello! Hello!', he said. What!' said his wife. Are ye nae speaking tae me?'

Two more snippets I liked this week from the paper...

Someone in New York the other day got a flavour of the run-up to the presidential elections when he spotted a T-shirt on sale which stated: "So many righteous right-wing Christians.

"So few lions."

An American who arrived at Glasgow Airport was asked at immigration: "Occupation?"

"No," he replied. "Just visiting."

Ok,here's a wee tribute to Stars rng...

Castles in the Sky..

I'm not much of a poker fanboy.I couldn't give two hoots if Hellmuth had another blow up or who the latest "sick sicko mtt" player is this week.Occasionally though I'll fire up the Railheaven tables on Full Tilt and enjoy watching the pros play at nose-bleed stakes.Who says you should never go broke with only a pair in Holdem...

Maybe Durr was building Castles in the Sky..

Or maybe he'll get Another Chance...

Either way it was a good excuse to post a couple of top tunes!

My new tele was delivered yesterday and looks fantastic! 42" is more than big enough for my wee flat and I've already watched plenty of football and "Saw" on it.I even watched about 5 mins of Strictly Come Dancing" but only because it was on Virgins high definition channel!

On the poker front I managed a decent run in Dr Paulys PLO game, finishing 5th.I could maybe have been tighter and tried to scrape into the money, but I got my money in goot and I think I'd play it the same way again.( not sure about my preflop call though!)

Afterwards I played some more $22's and $33 turbos on Party and finished down about $60 there after running like crap, especially at $33's where only a 2nd place finish in my last game really helped keep me afloat.Over at Stars I muddled along with $16's and a $27 and finished up about $30 for the evening.

That's nearly my 4th year of real money online poker over ( Oct 31st) and I'll be firing up a stats post some time next week.I'm also going to the football on Tues, taking Step A and ex Mrs A to the Cascada gig on Wed,playing pool on Thurs and heading out on Friday night! That's if I don't just cancel the lot and stay in to watch my new tv!

Ok,don't forget to register for tonights Brit Blogger game on Full Tilt.No need to be a Brit or a blogger....!

Oh and here's a quick guide on how to go from being on the bubble to getting Heads Up in one easy move....( from a $22 on Party)

Bloggerment tonight...

If you're at a loose end tonight fire up the Bloggerment on Stars and join in the donkery! It's under the "Private" tab and is open to all....

My Bloggerment co-host ( Mr Hannah Montana ) has emailed me re moving the Bloggerment to Full Tilt again for a while, starting it at 8pm and making it a turbo.I'd be happy to give that a go.All thoughts on the subject welcome.

On the poker front things continue to go reasonably well.I cashed $2k out of Pokerstars and finally ordered my new tv and took out enough to cover next months road tax bill too.The tele and a new Virgin + box arrive next Saturday.Roll on!

Thanks to Poker Jones for the comment left on a recent post about me stepping up a bit.I have been pushing myself out of my comfort zone more often over the last couple of weeks and it's made me realise how poor my concentration and focus had become at my usual $16 games at times.I suppose this is partly because I'm way over-rolled for them and partly because the opposition is so bad that it really doesn't take a lot of skill to beat them.

I've played a few $27's and a $38 on Stars now and haven't had any breaks. My $33 and occasional $55 ventures at Party have been much better. The Stars $38 was an 18 player and I busted in 6th after running my 1010 into AJ.That hand would have given me the chiplead and hurt for a moment or two before I realised it was basically a standard flip and not something I'd think twice about at $16.

I'm actually down $78 overall at Stars sngs for the month but that's only over 36 games. My PLO/Bloggerment wins ( On the PLO front Dr Paulys game was set up as HU Omaha by mistake this week and I was pwned in my first game) mean I'm still in profit on the site for the month but I can't believe I've only played 36 games on my favourite site!

Actually I can believe that. Why play regular filled $16's on Stars when the Party fishbowl is so much jucier?I just hope they never let the Americans back in to ruin a good thing! Keep Party full of fishy Euro/Canadians!

Ok,too tired to post anymore today.Back soon...

Sat Update

It's funny how some weeks the ideas and thoughts for blogging seem endless and other weeks I feel as if I've said it all and there's nothing original to write about.Perhaps it's about time I cut my posting frequency down a bit.Hmmm.

On Thursday night I took down a couple of turbs and cashed in a couple more on Party for a decent profit and I sensibly went to my bed at 11.30 to try and catch up on a little sleep.I'm not keen on playing when very tired as it seems to affect both my decision making and my reaction to the beats.

Last night before heading across to the S-mans for the evening I began the "Nacho no crisps diet ".( chips for any US/Canadian readers!).This was because when I popped in to pick up Step A to give her a lift to her Dads yesterday the dog jumped up with so much enthusiasm he cut my gum!Much as I adore salt n vinegar crisps, a packet now would be more painful than losing to a runner runner gutshot! Thanks Nacho!

I did manage a feat yesterday which is rarer than flopping three Royal flushes in a row.Yes,I managed to impress a teenager!I heard the girl next to me at work mention Cascada were playing at the Carling Academy in Glasgow and I managed to get a couple of tickets for Step A and the ex Mrs A.Step A's "whoaaa thanks" made it well worth every penny.I just wish I'd bought myself a ticket now as I do love my dance tunes!

Back to last night and I enjoyed a fine evening watching "Hancock" before arriving home around 1am.Friday nights and weekends in general are probably the juciest times to play poker but I was so dang tired I managed to watch half a Spacegravy training vid before hitting the sack about 2am and not getting up until 1.30 pm today!

Almost time to raid the poker account for a new tv.I was looking at a 46" Sony but in truth I don't watch a lot of tele and I reckon this baby would fit the bill nicely.I remember years ago my Mum and Dad buying a 33" set from a pub liquidation sale and it looked massive at the time. Now I'm worrying that a 42" set may not be large enough!

Ok,off to watch the second half of the Scotland v Norway game ( 0-0 at h/t) before taking Nacho out again and enjoying a nice chilled out Saturday.I may even ( if I remember) try out Dr Paulys Omaha game on Stars at 9.20pm UK time. After Dudleys recent success I reckon I should redress the balance with some donkery!
